Gloria Dei Lutheran Church

WHO WE ARE

We are a congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Gloria Dei Lutheran Church

was founded by the merging of Grace Lutheran Church and Christ Lutheran Church in  1960.

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church accepts the Scriptures

as the inspired and inerrant Word of God,

and subscribes unconditionally to all the symbolical books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church

as a true and unadulterated statement

and exposition of the Word of God. We accept the Lutheran Confessions as articulated in the Book

of Concord of 1580 because they are drawn from

the Word of God, and on that account we regard their doctrinal content as a true and binding exposition of Holy Scripture. We are here to serve

the people of Pequot Lakes and the surrounding area with the love of Christ through the means of grace in His Word, and the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.

THIS WE BELIEVE

We believe in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit,

Who makes Himself known to us in the written Word of the Bible. (II Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe that the chief message of the Bible is that God came to earth in the person of Jesus Christ,

true God and true man, who through a sinless life and a holy death on the cross paid our debt of sin

so that we live with God today and forever in heaven. (II Corinthians 5:1-4,20-21)

We believe our Lord is present with His people through His Word and the Sacraments,

working in our hearts to respond to His love for us

by serving Him and our neighbors. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

We want you to know this, to receive this as true

and to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ so that you too can live with God today and forever in heaven.
